Hack for Health Equity: Global Public Health Hackathon

From 500+ applications, 30 teams were selected for a 48-hour global public health equity hackathon.

The Global Public Health Hackathon kicked off with a clear mandate: turn urgent health challenges into scalable solutions for access and equity. After more than 500 applications worldwide, 30 teams were selected for 48 hours of focused building.

What happened

Winning teams were positioned for more than trophies: opportunities to present at the World Health Assembly in Geneva and the WFPHA Global Meeting in Cape Town; technical credits from partners Lovable and n8n; and three months of entrepreneurship mentoring plus ongoing AI and public health support.

Young AI Leaders Austria contributed through the wider health-and-hackathon track connecting Linz talent to global public health innovation.

Why it matters

Health equity needs builders who can ship under constraints—and pathways that carry prototypes into advocacy and sustained support. This format links weekend intensity to long-term impact.
