Wrapping the AI Literacy Pilot 2025
The 2025 pilot reached almost 100 students aged around 13—focused on learning what creates real literacy value.
Young AI Leaders Austria wrapped the final AI literacy workshop of its 2025 pilot—reaching almost 100 students aged around 13 across schools, with a deliberate choice to learn what creates value before scaling fast.
What happened
A clear insight emerged: growing up with social media and consumer apps trains many students to expect fast, frictionless results. With AI, that pattern intensifies—convincing answers arrive instantly, often without reflection on accuracy, bias, legality, or consequences. The challenge was not lack of interest or ability; critical judgment is not automatically triggered by convenient systems. With AI, it has to be learned.
Why it matters
Early AI literacy succeeds when it builds judgment, not only fluency with tools. The pilot gives the Linz hub an evidence base for programmes that scale curiosity and critical thinking together.
