Hosting Linz for the Global hAIckathon 2025
The Linz hub hosted a 24-hour local gathering for the Global hAIckathon, with food, workspace, and global prizes.
On 8–9 November 2025, Young AI Leaders Austria hosted Linz for the Global hAIckathon—a 24-hour creative marathon linking the city to a worldwide AI builder stage spanning Berlin, London, New York, Lisbon, Sarajevo, Tirana, and more.
What happened
The global event was organised by SarAI, Æthos, CIC (Cambridge Innovation Center), and AI Tinkerers Paris, with Linz represented by Young AI Leaders Austria and supported by Lovable, SerpApi, and Conduit. Participation was free; the Linz site offered food, drinks, and workspace for 30 participants, with help for solo builders to form teams.
Global prizes exceeded $4,500 in cash and tech credits. The format was online globally, but Linz gathered in person—community first, prototypes as the shared output.
Why it matters
Linz belongs in the same conversation as larger AI cities. Hosting a local node of a global hackathon proves that Upper Austrian talent can ship under pressure and connect outward at the same time.
