UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance Stakeholder Consultation

Young AI Leaders Austria joined fellow hub leaders to represent the Young AI Leaders community at the United Nations’ second informal stakeholder consultation for the Global Dialogue on AI Governance—hosted by Co-Chairs H.E. Egriselda López (El Salvador) and H.E. Rein Tammsaar (Estonia).

What happened

The Co-Chairs’ draft organised work into four thematic clusters: AI opportunities and implications across societal, cultural, and economic dimensions; bridging AI divides through capacity-building and digital foundations; safe, secure, and trustworthy AI with responsible interoperable approaches; and human rights, transparency, accountability, and human oversight.

Stakeholders including the Linz hub were invited to provide feedback. The consultation—sometimes at unconventional hours for global coordination—is exactly what the AI for Good Youth Community was built for: giving young people a voice where it matters most.

Why it matters

Global AI governance cannot be designed only by those already in the room. Youth consultation keeps capacity-building, rights, and lived digital experience visible in UN-level dialogue.
